FAQ & PRICE LIST
Q.... "Is your pottery safe to use?"
A.... Judy Jones Pottery is microwave safe, oven safe and dishwasher safe.
Q.... "Is there lead in your pottery?"
A.... Absolutely no lead is in Judy Jones Pottery. Most American potters are trained at universities and mix their own glaze formulas. In fact, most potters guard their glaze formulas as secret.
Q.... "How long have you been in business?"
A....When I graduated from the University of Iowa, I graduated with my certificate to teach art but wanted to engage myself in art rather than teach. In 1979 I established my first pottery studio and began to travel to local and regional art fairs. I called it "Sugar Creek Pottery" because my husband and I and our son, Don, lived in the country on "Sugar Creek" just outside of West Point, Iowa. In 1992 we moved to Fort Madison, Iowa nearby the reconstructed replica of Old Fort Madison and I changed the name to "Old Fort Pottery". From that location, I operated a gallery in conjunction with the studio and began to do fewer and fewer art fairs. Across the Mississippi River and 9 miles from Fort Madison was an active tourism center in Nauvoo, Illinois and in 1996 I moved my shop and studio and adopted the name "Nauvoo Pottery & Gift Gallery". By this time we were down to one art fair, "The Gatlinburg Craftsmen's Fair" in Gatlinburg, Tennessee which we had been attending since 1985. Then, in 2001, I moved my studio to it's present location in the Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and invite you to visit "Judy Jones Pottery & Gift Gallery in the Smokies".
